About Us
Building a better South Africa, one community at a time
The Patrick & Johanna Foundation is a South African nonprofit organisation operating across Limpopo and Gauteng. We were founded on a singular belief — that real change begins at the grassroots level, and that every person, regardless of age or background, deserves access to opportunity, dignity and support. We build programs that employ people, develop skills, and strengthen communities from within. Our approach is practical, measurable and community-led — designed not just to help, but to transform. This is not charity. This is nation-building.
Our founders believe that nation-building starts at the grassroots level-by empowering individuals, employing youth, and creating programs that communities can sustain long after our involvement.

Why we exist
We started with a simple but powerful belief — if you invest in people, they will transform their own communities. Not through handouts, but through skills, employment, mentorship and dignity.
The Patrick & Johanna Foundation was built by people who have walked alongside communities, who understand the challenges and more importantly, who know what works. Every program we run is designed with sustainability at its core — built to outlast our direct involvement and create leaders where there were none.
We are not here to be needed forever. We are here to make ourselves unnecessary.
What guides everything we do
Dignity
Every person deserves to be treated with respect and given the opportunity to thrive.
Opportunity
We create real pathways for employment, education and personal growth that communities can own and sustain.
Accountability
Full transparency in how funds are used, how outcomes are measured and how we report to every stakeholder.
Community
Solutions designed with communities, for communities — locally owned and built to last beyond our involvement.
Community-led, measurable, sustainable
We don't believe in hand-outs without empowerment. Every program is designed with the community, for the community. We measure outcomes, report transparently, and build programs that outlast our direct involvement.
Our approach involves three pillars: direct support (food, goods, immediate needs), skills development (workshops, mentorship, training), and sustainable employment (community projects that create lasting jobs and skills).
Transparency & accountability
The Patrick & Johanna Foundation is fully registered and compliant with South African nonprofit legislation. We are committed to the highest standards of governance, financial stewardship and ethical leadership.
Our leadership team welcomes full scrutiny from sponsors, donors, partners and community stakeholders. Transparency is not a policy for us — it is a practice.
